Education &
Community
Emerging talent
A wider integral part of the company’s ethos is to nurture and hopefully inspire emerging talent, whether it’s performing, writing or devising and across all disciplines, singing, acting & dancing.
Community work
(Selkie – A Sea Woman) was commissioned by Creative Wakefield and Wakefield Council and was featured at WordFest2021 and the wider Festival of the Earth. It was performed at WX (Wakefield’s former Market Hall) on Saturday the 30th October 2021 and was a free event. This was our first collaboration with Creative Wakefield and has resulted in us now taking our work out in to the wider community in the Wakefield area. This is a branch of our work that we hope to expand on in the future.
Industry Placements
We collaborate extensively with UCW, providing both workshops, work experience and industry placements to students who wish to develop and enhance their understanding of theatre making.
Research & Development
‘ as part of our research and development for ‘Memory Palace: I’m Still Here, we conducted a series of ‘Sing and Share’ workshops for the dementia community of Wakefield. These amazing sessions enabled those living with dementia to use music and singing to reflect on their lives and the memories that were important to them’.
